Native to Cyprus, Syria, and Turkey (cultivar)
Perfect small woody subshrub for dry shallow rocky alkaline soils that produce showy flowers over a long season. Plants are rhizomatous and also root in along stems that touch the ground, making this a terrific groundcover. North of zone 6, may be grown as an annual. Rabbit, deer, drought, erosion, dry soil, shallow-rocky soil tolerant and attract every pollinator around. May be grown as an annual in zone 5.
