Often refered to as native baby's breath, this plant flowers for a period of about 6 weeks in mid to late summer.  Clusters of white flowers, each with 5 petals with a kiss of green at the base encircling a yellow center.  The flowers are monoecious.  The leaves are rarely eaten by mammals due to a toxic latex, while the seeds are eaten by many birds including Wild Turkey, Quail and Mourning Doves.   NAO
