A selection with purple stems and foliage and flowers that start out red, changing to orange red, and the bronze, are set against the black stems and dark purple leaves.  Flowers the first year from seed from July through October.  Thrives with minimal care in full sun in rich or poor soils, from sand to clay.  Deer and rabbit resistant with high salt tolerance.  Butterflies and pollinators flock to the flowers.
