A selection of M. caerulea ssp caerulea for its deep purple flower that become purple brown seed heads on top of green stems. Perfect green tufts of foliage.  Excellentthroughtout the growing season but striking for the autumn and winter garden in medium to wet soils in full sun to partial shade.  Entire plant becomes a striking wheat color in winter.  Deer resistant, juglone tolerant and excellent for coastal plantings as they are salt and salt spray tolerant.
