Native to Japan (cultivar)
Forms a upright bushy mound of green fragrant leaves in consistently moist soil. Perfect for a rain garden. Clusters of tubular bright-blue flowers appear throughout summer. Perfect for the middle of the border and excellent in containers. Nice cut flower. Attractive to butterflies and pollinators, but not to deer.
Does not have the drought tolerance of other commonly grown Nepeta species. Clumps may be pruned back hard in July to rejuvenate the foliage and encourage repeat flowering in the autumn.
This strain was developed by Jelitto Seeds of Germany.
